News and Events: Summer events

The last part of the St. Joseph Novena will be written in the following weeks.  I will interrupt the Novena to talk about the events that are coming up for the community.

School is out and everyone wants to enjoy the summer.  But sometimes the summer is busier then the school year.  The sisters spend time visiting their families in the summer months. We also go to various vocation events and we have our yearly retreat.  So the summer months can be quite hectic.  Our religious family is just like your family.  We have to keep our spiritual life in mind when planning the summer.  We don't want God to take a back seat to the fun and activities that are planned.

If you are in the Atlanta area come and visit our table at the Atlanta Eucharistic Congress June 3 and 4.  The theme for the Congress is "Be Merciful Just As Your Father is Merciful."  We will have our nun picture there like last year.  It is always a big hit.

The Fathers of Mercy in Auburn, Ky. will be having an ordination on June 4th.  Sister Elizabeth Ann, Sister Cecilia and Sister Mary Faustina will be attending.  It is always a special time to be with our friends the Fathers of Mercy.  We look upon them as our brother community.

I hope everyone has a safe Memorial Day.  May God bless those who are actively serving our country and those who have served.  May God bless them and reward them for their selfless giving the peace and freedom we enjoy.
